We aim to encourage all early-childhood educators to build environments of affirmation and support of gender nonconformity. This means we want to teach parents, teachers, and any other caregivers how to support a child as they explore what gender identity and expression mean for themselves and others. With expanding definitions of the gender spectrum, it can be difficult to know how to communicate these concepts to young children, and this is where Gender Expansive Teaching comes in!
