This document contains summaries and subject matter notes for 14 children's books focused on gender expression and identity. Ranging from simple stories, like Pink is for Boys, to more complex narratives for older children, like Ho'onani Hula Warrior, these recommendations span many different experiences and positions along the journey to Gender Expansive Teaching. In creating this document, there was much consideration placed on forming a list that is representative of many different cultures and identities, so that every child can see themselves in one of these stories. 

Gender Expansive Teaching recognizes the limitations of this list and recommends using the links at the end of this document to find expanded lists and visiting your local libraries as possible to review books before purchasing.
